Name: Nana Varveropoulou

Nana has been a professional photograspher for quite a few years, mainly portrait work in fashion and documentary sectors. She is also a tutor at our college and will hopefully be teaching us during the second year of the course.

Nana spoke in depth about how she started out, from sending out initial letters through to how she gets work now. One thing that she highlighted was keeping your portfolio up-to-date, not for it just to act as an archive but to act as a living tool to show off our best work and our shooting style.

She also spoke of her latest project “No Mans Land” which was based around the Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre. The photographs she showed were quite powerful and thought provoking.
